What is Moreton Bay Community Matters?
Moreton Bay Community Matters (MBCM) is a locally run not-for-profit organisation, affiliated with and based at Rivers Church of Christ. It is run purely by volunteers and donations from people and companies to help make people’s lives more sustainable. MBCM aims to involve and help people from all walks of life through different activities and support networks.

What do you do?

MBCM volunteers receive donated food from Oz Harvest, Second Bite and other local organisations and sort it into food hampers at Rivers Church on Wednesdays. Hampers include fresh fruit and vegetables, bread and occasionally pantry items.

Volunteers run a fundraising BBQ at North Lakes Bunnings every second Thursday and there is a community garden at Rivers Church.

When do you meet?

Food hampers are distributed every Thursday from 7:30-9:00am at Rivers Church, 120 Ann St, Kallangur.

Why should you come?
Thursday’s are a time where we gather to distribute food hampers. Food hampers are available to anyone who is in need. Many donated pre-loved items such as toys, clothes and linen are also available for anyone to take. We can also provide pastoral and crisis support.
